Hero Squads โ€” Layout, Counters, and Tank Deep-Dive

Who goes front row vs back row, which squad beats which, and the tank squad priority list.

Last updated 4/17/2026

Tank, Air, and Missile form a rock-paper-scissors triangle: Tank beats Missile, Missile beats Air, Air beats Tank โ€” each with a +20% damage bonus against its counter. Picking the right squad composition matters more than raw power difference.

Beginner hero guide showing Tank, Air, and Missile squads with front-row defense and back-row attack and support heroes
Front row = defense (they take the hits). Back row = attack and support. UR heroes are endgame aspirations; SSR heroes carry you there โ€” do not wait for a UR pull you may never get.

Gear priority by row

  • Front row: Armor (survivability) + Radar (aggro pull).
  • Back row: Railgun (damage) + Chip (crit + skill boost).
  • Level Legendary gear first. Epic gear levels do not transfer when you upgrade to Legendary โ€” they are permanently wasted ore.

The tank squad is the most beginner-friendly: fewer hero swaps, cleaner gear path. Use this as your first deep investment.
